Happy Thanksgiving!

I love this holiday! I Woke up really early to put the Tofurkey
in the oven, pack, and clean the apartment this morning
before heading to mom's. It's been great hangin' with the
fam and taking cat naps and putting up Christmas decorations!
I made little hats for the doggies.

Away We Go

What a cute movie! I know I'm late, but I just saw
it today. Great acting, very funny, but still

My gloves are coming along great, I'm actually
really surprised at myself and quite proud. I'm
hoping I'll be done with them tomorrow. I want to
make a "garden style" beret hat and a neck warmer
too! Although I'm not sure when I'll be able to
where them! It's still kinda warm here. :/

I'm stoked for Thanksgiving! I bought a Tofurkey the
other day! Nom nom nom. I can't wait to see my momma.
I haven't seen her in a month! So sad. On Friday
we are spending time with the hub's fam. I need
to find some things to wear stat!

Christmas Cards

My brother came over last night and took some pictures
of Pepsi for our Christmas cards this year. We got alot
of really good shots but this one is my favorite.

I've been to every photo card website on the web trying
to find a design I like and that fits the photo and it's
been really difficult! My favorite sites are and I think I'm going to go with this design.
It's a such a hard decision! Agh!

P.S. As you can see the tree is now up!

New Moon

7 HOURS until New Moon!! So Excited!!! I'm
ready for some sessy shirtless werewolf.

UPDATE: Midnight showings are so much fun!
Screaming girls are the best and all the
excitement gets me totally pumped up for the movie
and I was pleasantly surprised to see that it was
actually a lot better than the first one! The acting
has improved a lot! Can't wait to go see it again!

Is it too soon to start decorating for Christmas?
I know Thanksgiving isn't until next week, but
we won't be at our place for the day so it's not
like it matters that there are no fall decorations.
I think I will start bring out the trees and
ornaments today. I've been wanting to take some
pictures of my apartment anyway and it will look
cuter with Christmas decor me thinks, yes.

More Glovespiration

These are really cute "driving gloves."
I love the button detail and the exposed hand.
I found these on the Lion Brand Company Website.

These I believe are knit gloves but I especially
like the little bows on the wrists. Found @ Polka Dot Robot.

Oh and I finished my first glove tonight.
It was easier than I thought It would be
but It looks a mess so I'm starting over
and cleaning it up and changing the pattern
a little bit.

Headband and glove inspiration via A Beautiful Mess.
I want to learn how to make something similar!
The headband is adorable and gloves would be perfect
for fly fishing!

Granny Square

I made my first multi-colored granny square!
I'm making an afghan for the living room. It's blue, white and gray.
Yay Me! Next on my agenda is to learn how to make a doggie scarf and hat.
Also I want to learn how to crochet flowers to embellish different things
like headbands and cardigans.

Silhouettes are extremely popular right now and I decided to jump on that bandwagon. I became inspired by John and Sherry's silhoutte of their dog Burger and asked how they made it. Come to find out John had ordered it from a silhoutte maker as a gift for Sherry. I looked up the price and decided it was too much for me to spend on something I could surely make myself. So I gathered my supplies. 1. black paper (i used a piece of scrapbooking paper since I had that already.) 2. Several pieces of white computer paper. (again already in the house.) 3. scissors 4. pencil 5. glue stick 6. picture frame (I had bought months before but probably spent about $5 on.) I took a side profile picture of Pepsi and enlarged it to the size I wanted it on the computer. I held the white paper up to the screen and traced her profile.

It looked a mess but would work for what I needed. Next I cut around the tracing.

Then I pressed the cut-out onto the black paper and traced around that with a pencil.

I carefully cut along my pencil marks to make the finished silhouette. Now I needed to glue the silhoutte onto the white paper.

I cut the white paper down to fit inside the frame and taped it to the frame so it wouldn't slide around.

Then I found a place in my home where I wanted to display my silhouette.

Ta-Da! Mission Accomplished. It took me about 45 minutes and didn't cost me anything!

Card Making

I've been working on some cards for Thanksgiving. I really like how they are turning out. I love the owl and deer paper. I'm starting to plan out how I want to make the office into my craft room too. I haven't had alot of time to do crafts because I've been helping my father-in-law with some stuff but after that I'll be free to do what I want!

Happy November!

I finished up two books today. One I had started back in July and stopped halfway because I started reading Charlaine Harris. It's not a bad book though, it's well written and I ejoyed reading it even if the plot is a little overdone these days. It's about an unhappy 50's housewife but from a childs perspective. I love stories set in the 1950's that time period is so beautiful and innocent, I wish I could have experienced it.

The second is the 3rd book in the Harper Conelly mystery series by Charlaine Harris. After I finished the Stookie Stackhouse Series I serched her other books. I really liked this series. It's pretty different from the vampire and werewolf stuff but there's a little supernatural thrown in. I'm excited to start another series of hers.
