Grey Gardens

An old mother and her middle-aged daughter, the aunt and cousin of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, live their eccentric lives in a filthy, decaying mansion in East Hampton.
I have been absolutely fascinated by the story of Edith Beale and Little Edie after watching Grey Gardens. It's a really great documentary. I had to go look up as much as I could about them and I'm still curious too see what Grey Gardens looks like now. HBO released a movie version this year starring Jessica Lang and Drew Barrymore. Their performances are so so so good!! I highly recommend watching both films!

VIC CHESNUTT 1964 - 2009

VIC CHESNUTT 1964 - 2009

The music world lost a very talented guy on Christmas Day. So sad.

“In 1991 I moved to Athens, Georgia in search of God, but what I discovered instead was Vic Chesnutt. Hearing his music completely transformed the way I thought about writing songs, and I will forever be in his debt."

Christmas Day

Me and Pepsi standing in the snow on Christmas morning. I was so spoiled this year! I got that wonderful red coat I'm wearing from my brother. My mom got me so many treasures! My favorite being True Blood Season 1. And from my in-laws I got a NIKON D3000 with two types of lenses! I feel so blessed! I hope everyone had a great day!

Merry Christmas everyone! Hope you have a wonderful holiday!
We are having a white Christmas here and it's wonderful! Me and my
bro are staying up late watching the Ghost Hunters marathon. I love
this show so much!

Colonial Christmas

I loove this house. I wish it was mine.

Christmas Pup

I crocheted Pepsi a Christmas coat and hat yesterday.
Then I woke her up to have her try it on and take pictures.
As you can see she was not happy about it. Hahaha. Oh well
she's still precious and the cutest dog in the world.

Christmas Cookies

I'm getting ready to head to mom's for Christmas Eve dinner and present opening! Woohoo! I baked those cookies last night and filled the container to the brim. They turned out really good. I'm hoping to make some more tonight so I can bring some to the in-law's tomorrow, hopefully I'll have time. Happy Christmas Eve everyone!!

Ye Olde Trout

Look at this nasty ol' trout we snatched out of the water
over the weekend. He sure was on his last fins.

My hubby sure can spot the cute! He found this on etsy today.
It's a fly fishing crochet pattern. Haha! Pretty neat.

I'm going to do a giveaway when I reach 50 followers. So
if you secretly read my blog and have a blogspot of your
own let it be known! And if you really like my blog enough
to promote it on your own that would be really nice too!
Thank you to everyone who reads and comments!

Chi Beanie

I've been working on products for my shop like mad. I want to open it
on Jan. 1st. I made this little hat for Pepsi. It's still a bit big and I
need to work on the design more but I think it's darling. She has a hard
head to make a hat for though, I bet it would fit a applehead a lot better.
I might put these beanies in the shop, I don't know, what do you think? I've
also added screenprinting for my goals in 2010! Luckily my husband can teach
me this because of his screeprinting experience from his old band days.

Goals 2010

2009 is coming to an end and I've been thinking
about all the things I have been blessed with this
year. Trout fishing in Akansas and New Mexico. An
amazing trip to California. Celebrating our one
year wedding anniversary in Fredericksburg. Moving
from downtown Dallas to Plano. Having the patience
to teach myself how to crochet. And so much more!

Here are some of my goals for 2010...

{via:we heart it}
Teach myself how to sew. Maybe take a few classes.

{via:world of kanon}
Get my Etsy shop up and running. This is something
I was trying to start last Summer but I started
doing some stuff for my father-in-law and I haven't
had time. Hint: It has something to do with Chi's!

Get a pretty tattoo.

Fly fish at Yellowstone National Park.

Buy my first new car ever. Preferrably this one.
It's so cute and totally me!

Christmasing With Mom

Last Friday night I went over to my mom's house. I took her
out to dinner at Macaroni Grill. Yum Yum. Then we went to look
at Christmas Lights. It was a lot of fun. A local park had set
up a massive quantity of lights and you could drive through
and gape at them. The also had carnival type rides and sold
candy apples! Which mom and I both had to have. That made me
so happy! I've never had a candy apple in December before.
Very Magical.

Gnome and Mushroom Ornaments

{via:My Paper Crane}
Holy moly! How cute are these ornaments by Heidi Kenney?!? I love
how vintage they look. I think they are simply amazing. She even posts
a tutorial of how to make them! I think I will put these on my to-do
list. I like the fact that they don't have to be holiday, you could
use any colors or plastic figures you want.

Those Who Save Us

For fifty years, Anna Schlemmer has refused to talk
about her life in Germany during World War II. Her
daughter, Trudy, was only three when she and her mother
were liberated by an American soldier and went to live
with him in Minnesota. Trudy's sole evidence of the past
is an old photograph: a family portrait showing Anna,
Trudy, and a Nazi officer, the Obersturmfuhrer of Buchenwald.

Driven by the guilt of her heritage, Trudy, now a professor
of German history, begins investigating the past and finally
unearths the dramatic and heartbreaking truth of her mother's life.

Combining a passionate, doomed love story, a vivid evocation
of life during the war, and a poignant mother/daughter drama,
Those Who Save Us is a profound exploration of what we endure
to survive and the legacy of shame.

I finished this book last night. It is such a good read.
One of my favorite subjects is Nazi Germany/WWII and
this is a great story set during that time. I highly
recommend it.
