East Texas Weekend

Sorry for the lack of posts lately. I was out of town from Thursday-Sunday and then spent all of yesterday laying on the couch watching a marathon of The Real Housewives of Orange County. I soo prefer Jersey or Atlanta but it still sucked me in! My husband is a board member of the Texas Historical Foundation so we had a trip to East Texas to do a historical tour and we also spent some time with family who live out there. It was a verry fun but tiring weekend! Here are some pics!

This was our host at Coon Creek (the place we stayed at.) He went out duck hunting every morning. Coon Creek is a private hunting lodge and has a small community of homes on its 8,000 acres of land. It opened in 1902 and was originally named Koon Kreek Klub (KKK) after a Mr. Koon, but eventually was pressured to change the spelling to be politically correct. Ha ha! Coon Creek is extremely exclusive, there is a major waiting list and the member fee is $50,000. It's crazy!

Jon did some fishing there and was very happy.
This is the only good picture of me the whole trip so I wanted to throw that in there. lol.
On the tour we went to old cemetaries, churches, and houses.
